Ensuring that grains flow out quickly and stably without leaving any residue on the sides of the silo is a true test of an operator’s abilities. Today, we will explain the techniques and precautions for rapid discharge from flat-bottomed steel silo.
Initiating Discharge Process
When discharging from a steel silo, start the conveyor system and then open the gate at the bottomed of the silo.
Adjusting Discharge Rate
Adjust the opening of the manual slide valve at the bottomed of the silo according to the required output volume of the material. Be cautious not to open it too wide, as an excessive output may lead to blockages at the discharge outlet.
Managing Multi-Outlet Silo
For silo designed with multiple discharge outlets, ensure that the center of the silo is completely empty before opening any outlet. This ensures that the surrounding materials can be discharged smoothly. Start by opening two corresponding outlets on either side and then gradually open towards the center of the silo. This method ensures that the flow rate from both side outlets remains equal.
Ventilation During Discharge
During the discharge process, it is crucial to keep the ventilation openings at the top of the silo open to prevent dust explosions.
