Project Overview

I. Project Introduction

In recent years, as a major agricultural country, Indonesia has seen a continuous increase in demand for infrastructure for grain storage and drying. COBAN Machinery (a subsidiary of Henan Haokebang Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd), with its rich experience in the field of grain storage and drying, We successfully won the bid for a grain storage and drying project located in Indonesia. This project includes two 1,000-ton cone-bottom steel silo and a batch cycle grain dryer with a capacity of 15 tons per batch. This system is designed to provide customers with safe, efficient and intelligent solutions for grain storage and drying. To maximize your investment ROI, it’s crucial to track current market trends. Ii. Project Details and Advantages

2.1 Storage scale and Location advantages

Storage capacity: The total capacity of the two silo is 2,000 tons, significantly enhancing the customer’s local grain reserve capacity. It is particularly suitable for the peak seasonal harvest period, allowing for smooth and phased storage of production.

Conical bottom design: The conical bottom (hopper/cone-bottom) structure enables more thorough unloading and a lower residue rate. By leveraging natural flow due to gravity and pneumatic unloading, rapid grain discharge can be achieved. The COBAN type conical bottom silo has a very low residual rate under self-flow discharge conditions (typical design ≤ 1 %). This precision discharge is a direct result of our modular bolted engineering. To understand why this structure is superior to field-folded alternatives, see our [Spiral Silo vs. Bolted Silo Comparison].

Land occupation and construction flexibility: The typical diameter of a single 1,000-ton silo is approximately 10  meters, and the total height is 15 to 17  meters (customized according to specific design).

This structure is compact, occupies a small area and is adaptable to different terrains.

2.2 Drying Capacity and Quality Assurance

batch dryer load: Each batch can process approximately 15 tons of grain (such as rice, corn, etc.), making it highly suitable for local purchasing stations, small cooperatives or medium-sized grain processing plants.

Circulating drying: By adopting circulating heating and air-suction circulating ventilation technology, hot air can be utilized in a stepwise manner, effectively saving energy, reducing grain damage, and ensuring the quality of the dried grains. Similar technologies have been proven in the industry to reduce damage rates and improve the quality of finished products.

Intelligent control system: Equipped with humidity sensors, temperature probes, PLC control systems, etc., it can monitor grain temperature and moisture in real time, achieve precise control, reduce human operating errors, and reduce drying losses.

2.3 Intelligent Grain Storage Management

Ventilation and temperature control system: The interior of the silo is equipped with a climate control (ventilation + temperature control) system, which can stabilize the humidity and temperature inside the silo and reduce the risk of mildew. COBAN’s silo ventilation system can maintain humidity in a relatively stable range.

Safety and structural design: The silo is made of high-strength Q235B galvanized steel plate. The connecting bolts are equipped with waterproof washers and are designed with wind ring supports to ensure the stability of the structure under wind loads, earthquakes and other working conditions.

Automatic early warning and monitoring: Equipped with material level sensor, temperature and humidity probe, PLC control management, and alarm mechanism. Once the temperature and humidity are abnormal, the system automatically sends a reminder to reduce inspection frequency and labor costs.

Iv. Project Advantages and Value Manifestation

Significant cost-effectiveness

  • This integrated storage and drying solution combines drying and storage in one system, which can significantly reduce the costs of multiple loading, unloading and transshipment.
  • Intelligent control reduces manual intervention, saving labor and management costs.
  • The conical bottom silo has a low residue rate (< 1 %) and causes less grain waste.

Improvement of grain quality

  • Circulating drying technology reduces damage, lowers the risk of mycotoxins, and improves the quality of grains. Similar intelligent circulating air suction dryers have been reported to be able to reduce mycotoxins in grains and increase the polishing rate of rice.
  • The ventilation and temperature control system ensures the quality of long-term grain storage and prevents mold and pests.

Adapt flexibly to local demands

  • A scale of 1,000 tons is moderate and suitable for both medium and small-sized agricultural clusters as well as local grain depots.
  • The batch drying capacity (15 tons per batch) can be flexibly matched with the local small-scale purchase or centralized purchase capacity of farmers.

Safe and reliable

  • High-strength steel structure, leak-proof design and wind ring support ensure the safety of the silo structure.
  • The automatic monitoring and alarm system can promptly warn of abnormal temperature and humidity, ensuring the safe operation of the grain silo.

Sustainability and environmental protection

  • The energy-saving design of the drying system (hot air circulation, stepwise recovery) reduces energy consumption.
  • Intelligent climate monitoring reduces food loss, lowers waste and has a relatively small impact on the environment.

Summary and Outlook

The project of two 1,000-ton cone bottom silos and a 15-ton batch circulation dryer implemented by Kebang Machinery in Indonesia not only meets the actual needs of local agricultural enterprises or grain depots for large-scale storage and drying, but also embodies the modern grain engineering concepts of intelligence, energy conservation and quality assurance.

In the future, this system can also be expanded:

  • Replicate this model in more locations to form multiple dry storage centers;
  • As demand grows, more dryers can be added or the silo capacity can be expanded.
  • Integrate local clean energy sources such as solar energy and waste heat to achieve a greener and more energy-efficient drying production line.

Through this successful case, Haokebang/COBAN has demonstrated its technical strength and project delivery capabilities in the global grain storage and transportation field, and also provided modern grain dry storage solutions that can be referred to for other countries and regions.
