Project Overview

This project was completed in Kenya for bulk grain storage, with two 1,000-ton galvanized steel grain silos installed as the main storage units.

The two silos provide a combined storage capacity of 2,000 tons, giving the customer separate storage space for incoming grain and making it easier to manage different batches during the harvesting and trading seasons.

Storage System

The 1,000-ton silos are designed for bulk grain handling and long-term storage. The storage system can be equipped with grain aeration, temperature monitoring, level indication and mechanical conveying equipment according to the customer’s grain type and operating requirements.

For a 1,000-ton storage project, proper aeration and temperature monitoring are particularly important in Kenya, where grain may enter the silo at different moisture and temperature conditions during the harvest period.

With two separate silos, the customer can also load and discharge different grain batches independently instead of placing the entire 2,000 tons into one storage unit.

Why 2 × 1,000 Tons?

Using two 1,000-ton grain silos instead of one larger storage unit provides more flexibility for grain storage operations. Each silo can be managed separately for loading, unloading, inspection and inventory control.

For grain traders, collection centers and medium-sized agricultural storage facilities in Kenya, this configuration provides a practical balance between storage capacity, operational flexibility and project investment.
